With facebook and a forum for every interest under the sun I have been unable to keep up with everyone, it seems Scuba Board is suffering badly...at least this forum. A weekly title summary e-mail might keep folks hooked. Just thinkin'

Hi Joe,

It must just be this forum.

SB is receiving more traffic than ever right now.

Yes. Statistically, the number of posts this past week is lower than a month ago by about 200-300 posts a day.

Now to keep this on topic. Posting meetups on SB (as Steve mentioned) gives your event greater SEO than posting it on Facebook or small regional forum. SB gets great traction with Google Searches, so by all means... instead of encouraging people toward a smaller regional forum. Encourage people to be more active in the regional forum on SB, where you can reach people who may not even know of the existence of a small forum, but most likely the small forum members are also on SB ;)

OP, as you know diving in the Midwest is just getting started and the GLWC has a meet and greet coming up in two weeks.

For the most part GLWC on SB has been instrumental for me in finding dive buddies and dive events in my area. But as a GLWC member on FB, I can say that the group is more active on FB than SB. But its not a very active group there either. Well that will surely change now that diving is getting ready to vamp up in our area. Other than the banter on the meet and greet thread, there is not a lot chatting in the GLWC forum. Mostly posts about dive locations and people looking for buddies when they want to dive.

Let the diving (and summer posts) begin...

I didn't mean to step on any toes!
I was just stating the obvious, that the GLWC forum has very little on it right now compared to a few years ago. I figured this was the correct forum to mention it in, it might motivate someone.

You didn't step on toes. Me personally, I think you should use this forum to organize things. Maybe all it takes to revitalize this forum (as you see it) is to just start things going ;)
