Had a great day with two really great people today on the Yukon ...Nothing like SoCal in November Santa Anna's and the Vis on the Yukon was 100'+ . The Yukon's shapping up to be a very sweet dive destination even for the locals ...man the vis was incredible while the sea life was so abundant....course I got sea sick prior to the second dive ...went to the Ruby E. and left my lunch on Posidons door step prior to a very decent second dive ...

Gotta love San Diego in the Fall!!

100+ ft? Interesting.. It was about 30- 35ft on Thursday, which is pretty great for the Yukon.. :) Gotta agree- conditions have been fantastic as far as vis goes lately...

We dropped in on the stern buoy...could see clearly to midship ...unreal day. That doesn't happen very often.

Skull,

I was on the morning trip yesterday on Lois Ann. Very crowded since my last trip there; only 3 divers then. I was with an instructor friend and she brought several students from her BOW class, so it was kind of an informal thing. She's talked me into taking the DM course so I just kinda tagged along and watched her do her thing. It was also my first nitrox dive, at least with open circuit.:D

Not quite sure viz was 100+, but it was good. I'd reckon about 20-30', but I'm used to clearer waters like Casino Pt. :)

The visibility was just as good the day before, 11/4 -- dove the Ruby E for the first time and could easily see the entire ship, bow to stern, from mid ship. Looked up from 60' and could see the boat floating above. So I'd estimate visibility was in the 70-80' range. I think I've been spoiled -- I'll expect conditions like this every time!

We hit her about 12:00 noon.. from the crows nest to the bottom is a good 45-50 and I could make out a female sheephead on the sand very clearly. From the stern to midship is a good 110' again it was very clear ...just my opinion though since I didn't bring a tape measure ...

Skull,

I'm not disputing the clarity. It was great viz bottom line. Anything more than 20' is excellent. We splashed hours earlier than you and the sun angle probably improved the visibilty during your dive. With the stated hull length of 344', being able to see amidships is phenomenal. :D

Shark out.

100ft? Thats awesome viz. I dove the Yukon and El Rey during the summer and the viz that time was about 25' and oh yeah, got really ea sick too :D
