What you think about your suit?

Why you think it's the best?

What kind of environment do you dive in that required such a pricey suit?

What features you like about it?

Let me know, I just ordered one.:) I want to dive dry!!! Tired of diving in the cold!!

Tough suit. I got a back zip one, would get a front zip one next. Watch your cuffs for premature wear (i.e. the latex on mine went a bit too early). All around comfy, but my forearms are far too tight (and its a custom suit). If i buy another suit, it wont be this expensive again. I just dont see the need for it but i am happy with it.

How many dives did you put on the suit, and what were you doing that caused the cuffs to fail?

Okay, let's talk about DUI then? What makes a DUI so much better than other suits?

I've been diving the CF200 since 1986 and am getting ready to retire my second one. It will be replaced with another CF200, because even after 8 years of very hard diving, it is still dry. I almost hate to retire it, but it has served me well and deserves a decent burial.

Why another CF200? I am a scuba instructor, commercial diver and I crew on dive charter boat in NJ. For the past 2 season I have spent 7 months in Nova Scotia on a job amassing close to 800 dives. The work is shallow, but involves alot of moving rocks and digging holes.

Still dry. Other suits that were on the job did not hold up as well. I just wish they still made it in orange.

I have dived my "DUI CF 200 tech" since 1998 and had initially some leaking problems from a couple of seams, which DUI fixed.

As soon as I recieved the suit, I replaced the Apeks valves with low profile Si Tech valves. They have a slower inflow, which I decided was better for cold water diving in Sweden.

The suit is very comfortable and the toughness makes it, in my opinion, perfect for wreck diving.

In afterthought, I just wished I ordered it in red to be more visible...

Sincerely

Anders

Very tough suit, what would you guys recommend as far as leak detection. In fact, how bad were the leaks that you were experiencing, and what did you do to fix them?

The leaks were not very bad, a couple of leaks at the seams in the legs, thats all. It is normally no major issue, but it is a different matter if you are diving in 28 degree farenheit water, which I was doing at the time.

The leaks were found by plugging the neck & wrist seals and inflating the suit with air. When the leaking part was submerged in water, bubbles came out. It can also be verified with soap & water to look for bubble formation. Another method is to fill the suit with water and look for leaks.

The suit was sent back to DUI who repaired it promptly.

One of the only downsides with this suit are that it is heavier when wet (carrying after a dive) and takes longer to dry compared to a TLS 350, but I have never found this to be a problem.
