I have an oceanic pro plus (not the pro plus 2) and it recently developed an appetite for new batteries. A new battery last a week and after 24 hours the computer tells me that the battery is 1/2 full.

Do I have a paper weight? Is it worth fixing? Where should I take it? My LDS? Should I use leisurepro's deal and trade it in for a new one?

Hi kelly7552,

Brian said it all. Oceanic has a very nice trade in policy wherein they give you a trade in credit you can apply toward a new computer. I recently traded in an old Pro Plus they no longer supported and got a new VT3. I'm extremely happy with the new computer after 18 dives off Little Cayman. I'm very fond of the Oceanic algorithm and have many Oceainic computers in my family so really didn't want to switch. Contact information is on the Oceanic website, I have always found them very responsive.

As an alternative, many other manufacturers have a policy wherein you can trade in your old computer, working or not, and apply the credit toward a new computer. I would ask your and/or other shops about such a policy or peruse other brands websites.

Best of luck, looks like you will have a new computer soon,

Craig

I too traded in/up and am very happy with the cost that I payed , I took my VEO200 to my LDS (where I orginally purchased it) and they sent it to Oceanic for repair and they suggested the replacement with a VEO250 ... I talked to my LDS about cost and I got a better deal from doing so
