I was thinking about trying wool socks under wetsuit boots to add warmth. Obviously, this is a cheap experiment, and I guess there's only one way to find out; however, I was wondering what the results were for people that actually tried this. Do wet wool socks inside wetsuit boots keep your feet warmer?

At worst, you'll just end up with a cleaner pair of wool socks.

Neoprene is better than wool, otherwise I'd have a wool wetsuit, but it is better than any other fabric. Back in the day I'd use jeans and a wool shirt to extend my dive season before I could afford a wetsuit. I could tell you that it worked, but I was too f'n cold to say it with a straight face.
