Today I dug out two pelicans that probably haven't been opened for a good 20 years. The equipment in the Nikonos case was surprisingly in decent nick. However the D100 case was a different story. The foam had completely disintegrated and spots of corrosion all over the housing and lens frames. All three strobes had signs of leaky batteries (I was a lazy underwater diver lol). However I was delighted that my orange Nikonos was in almost the same condition as the last time I used it (late 90's?). I'll give it a wee polish and put it in a display case.
Happy memories returned of flooding the Nikonos (luckily I bought a warranty at Dixons), taking dozens of manual U/W photos and barely having a handful worth keeping

, the damned buttons and focus sticking on the D100 house. The housing alone weighs about 15lbs ! In the day this equipment cost thousands, but the memories are worth more than that !
Have a nice day!
