I would really love to just go into a shop and try on the whole range in a pool, but there just isnt a lot out there to try on already in the stores here (and in small sizes).
They are all more than happy to order one in for me, the problem is i dont know what one, and i dont want to commit to one without trying first.
The reason I am looking specifically at the womens bcs is that besides being a small build, i am curvy too and I hate a bc pressing in on my chest.

At this point i am equally weighted (no pun intended..haha ) towards Diva, Ariel and the Zena, I am just having a really hard time finding a Zena over here... even the store that is supposed to stock them didnt have them and pushed me towards the diva and ariel.

I am really curious to try one on. The only thing that makes me hesitate with the Zena though is the elastic panels at the front, would they degrade faster than than non stretchy bcs?

I am trying to figure out which BCD to buy too. I have rented a fair few BCDs and most seem alright, but none of them were a womens BCD. (I used to wear a man's very old Scubapro, but it moved away with my sister.) I would love to try a ladies on but the dive ops don't rent ladies BCDs and the LDS up here don't bother keeping much in stock, especially not warm water BCDs. I'm leaning toward the Dacor Elite or Genesis Athena, due to the good reviews. Anyone have any insight, such as how durable it is, comfy fit, weight pockets, and tank strap (it only has one strap) just wondering if the tank wobbles much. Thanks for the input, Choco

Chocoholic, I know EXACTLY how you feel. The LDS in Anchorage are great but they aren't geared toward warm water diving. I would love to be able to try on the Ariel, the Islander, and Ladyhawk. Maybe even the Aeris Atmos XT.
I'm going to the Lower 48 tonight so hopefully I'll find a shop where I can try them on and decide. Then I can come back and place the order with my LDS.

I did try the Halcyon BP/W last weekend while doing my dry suit certification. I have to say that I really liked it. But Everything is different in a dry suit so I don't know how I would feel about it if I were wearing just a skin. I suggest you try it in the pool, you might like it. It certainly feels very different than a jacket.

Feel free to PM me. Maybe we can start a women's warm water diving club

It is exactly thes same with all my lds in Perth, i would soo love to take out a couple of a systems for a proper days diveing, not just in the pool. I think it would be really hard to get a feel for how it would be for real. I am begining to shy away from the idea of getting a bcd now because they just dont seem to fit me right, im small and they are just soo bulky on land and worse under water.... I really want to try a bp/w but the stores just dont stock them here and when you ask about them they kinda laugh at you and ask "why on earth would you want one unless you are diving doubles.... or want to look like a techie?" sigh.

From what i have been reading on sb the Halcyon seems to be a comfortable bp/w. What did you think, was it really different to a bc? And how did you find it on your shoulders with less padding and all? I dont have much padding on me...so im wondering if it digs in at all? Do you know what one it was that you tried..pioneer of eclipse?

Sorry for at the questions...i really want to have a girls opinon on this, cause they dont sell them here and if i want it i will have to order it from the other side of the country without trying it on.

Hi Lissette
I have just sent you a PM

I have a Small Zena in Perth waiting for you to take for a dive, and will send over a Zeagle BP&W System if you wish for you to take one for a dive.

Here is a girl’s opinion on the Zena
this review was done on the original Zena, the 2005 model has some updates including
Rear weight pockets.
Better storage pockets.
Stainless Steel DRings
And a Price reduction.

The BP/W is a comfy BC. The nice thing is that's it's completely adjustable so it should fit you regardless of your size. But I think you need to try it before buying it. They are expensive and if you don't like it you will have spent a lot of money. THe one I wore was the one with 24lbs of lift, the smallest one.
