Whatever gave you that mental connection WP? Lol - they seriously are like puppies - why aren't they famous - they have so much character :)

It's very rare that I'd do a couple of dives in Shelly without seeing at least one.
 
Pretty much anywhere, certainly south of Brisbane. We see them in Sydney but you can go many dives without seeing one. The best places I know to guarantee to see one are Fish Rock at South West Rocks and Julian Rocks at Byron Bay.
