I dive double (2 X 130) with drysuit + HOG harnest with a 55 lbs lbs of lift but when I go on vacation, I dive single with my BC Zeagle tech. I want to change it to have the same type of harnest than my double but I dont know what wings to chose. Mostly on vacation, there is only 80 alu tank and I have a full 3mm so I dont know what is the best choice between a 30 or 40 lbs lift capacities.

I'd say an 18lb wing would be more than you need.

You need to be able to:

Float your rig at the surface with a full tank if you ditch it, or want to don it in the water, and you need to be able to compensate for the compression of your wetsuit.

Assuming a SS plate and harness, your rig will be a bout -10 lbs with a full al 80, and your suit is unlikely to be more than about 4-6 lbs positive.

You can use a very small wing. Your application, warm water, thin suits and al 80's is why there are very small 17 -18 lbs wings made.

A 30 is much larger than you need.

As Tobin noted for warm water a 30 is more than you need. But is often just right for cold water and a single.

A thirty is probably more versatile if you plan on diving singles when not on vacation. It has lift capacity for steel single tanks and heavier exposure protection compression. There are some really small profile 30's out there that pack well and produce very little drag while diving. If you're looking for something to use exclusively on vacation, a 17 or 18 is a really sweet ride and generally less expensive.

30lb should work just fine!!!
