Anyway, here's a pic of the sig 30 and the mach V.

What's the red wing?

Also, I'm suprised how tiny the Mach V looks next to the Sig 30 in that pic. Can they both really be about 30# in lift capacity?

I've been meaning to start a wing pic/stats thread (including length, width and actual capacity), but delayed it because the image posting function wasn't working. Looks like it's back so maybe I'll start one soon.

*Floater*,

The pic was posted by someone else some time ago and here's the original thread:

Btw, my bad the other wing is the sig 45, while the red wing is the deepoutdoors 40 wing. The sig 45 isn't much bigger than the 30 but is definately bigger.

Please start the wing dimensions thread and I'll give my inputs on my wings too. Please include deflated and inflated dimensions.

Please include deflated and inflated dimensions.

How do you want me to measure the inflated dimensions?

I prefer to use the empty dimensions because they are easier to measure objectively, and more informative for me since I dive a balanced rig and use minimal gas in my wings. And when a wing is almost full, it's usualy easy to vent or shift gas in anyway.

Out of the list you provided I would go with the Mach V Oxycheq. I like the size, shape, construction, price, etc.. as well as Oxycheq in general. I think you will find Scuba Toys has a good price on it. You may have to ask for the Mach V as they dont have it on the website but do stock it. I would also check out the Torus wing by Deep See Supply (although a bit more money perhaps). I think it is a single bladder but it is extra thick. I am trying to decide between the two myself and am leaning towards the DSS. All your choices are good though IMO. I also went with the Hammerhead SS plate with the double STA. I think you will really be happy with your choice.

Both the Signaure Series and Mach V Signature Series use and have been using 25 mil bladders --- the thickest I know of.

Best regards,

Patrick

Believe it or not, the 30# Mach V Sig Series actually has a little more lift than the Sig Series.

I see why you want to use empty dimensions now.

Anyway, if you do decide to start this thread I'll be more than happy to include dimensions from my wings too :). The only thing would be how does one measure actual capacity?

Patrick, is the added lift due to the fatter bottom of the wing or is it because it has a highter internal volume than the sig 30?
