I guess it's like the NAVY SEAL thing (Sea, Air, Land...what does the 'e' stand for?...nothing...but who cares...it works!).

That's why the SLR are caps...They represent the characteristics of this reg as stated by Doug in his first post:

We're looking for your help naming Oceanic's smallest, lightest and most responsive regulator ever produced.
