Eskasi:
I see a display shield available to many of the other model watches, however, will this shield fit the D9? It is made of a rubbery sillicone. See here;

The D9 has a mineral face, so won't scratch too easily.
Using that display shield on a D9 would be like leaving the plastic covering on the sofa because you're afraid it might get dirty. ;)
I used a Stinger for a few years before it got stolen, and although the stainless steel bezel got a lot of scuffs and scratches, the face was spotless.

The plastic faces, on the other hand, such as the Mosquito and D3 do scratch quite easily, but I prefer the film type protectors for PDA's a lot more to those ugly display shields..
If you really do want to put something on it, use some of that.

Interesting. I didn't even know they sold separate shields. I have had a Vyper forever and it finally was dropped thus cracking and damaging the plastic shield. I love the idea of using a PDA film for the shield. I never really liked the gap of space which seems to accumulate condensation after a cold dive. Thanks for asking that question.

Yup, I agree the PDA ones are better....I had already ordered this which has a lifetime scratch replacement warranty;

Was only considering the shield for use when diving.....strange that I am so concerened about my new baby when I hardly give a crap about my Submariner which I wear almost daily.

However, it seems that the D9/6's mineral glass may not be THAT scratch resistant.....see these posts...

My d6 somehow got a scratch before it even got in the water.

That's kinda what I'm worried about. Things like that really bug me.... It would annoy me so much to even know there's a scratch even though it might be so minor I can hardly see it.

I just ordered this too;

They come in 2 sizes Medium (2.5cm Dia) and large (3cm Dia). I just asked them via email that I wanted the size that best fits the D9
