About 3 months ago, after doing a 32m and 24M dive in quarry in the UK, I suffered a burst blood vessel in my left ear due to unknowingly diving with an ear infection.
the injury caused me to be 80% deaf in my ear with loud humming and ringing for about 3-4weeks.
About 3 weeks ago, i got the "OK" from my ENT specialist at the local hospital, but i still get a wierd "clunking" in my left ear occassionaly when i tilt my head to down (like bending down to pick something up)
i have (of course) been back tot he ENT specialist though they can find nothing wrong or have heard of this before.
It feels like something is in the ear and moves ever so slightly once ina while. I have done a couple of 5m dives in a deep swimming pool to refresh my skills after the time out of the water, and had no problems with equalising or any pain.
Is it OK or does anyone have any thoughts?
My brother and I are planning a trip to Egypt, and the last thing I want to do is do any ham by diving on a bad ear or getting there and finding out that i can't dive!!!
thanks in advance
