why people go for scuba lesson? what this sport give you?
if anyone here know please sent me info ,thx.....OR anyone know more about sucba please tell me i doing project about these.

Spend some time reading the board and looking at some of the trip reports and I think you will see why we do this. Unless there is some reason that somebody HAD to get certified (military?) I think we all probably had very similar reasons for wanting to try it the first time. It looked and sounded like fun. Other than that, some enjoy the social aspects and some like the solitude. Some like cold water and others will only dive warm. Some love it deep and others like it shallow.
I doubt that you will get many Email replies, but if you actually participate in this thread you might get the info you are looking for.

From the people who take classes at the shop I work for the vast majority fall into a few categories:

- going on vacation in the tropics and want to try diving (adventure lovers)
- just got back from vacation where they did some snorkelling and it blew their mind (nature lovers)
- Waterbabies (love being in/around water)
- The "my s.o./friend/colleague/aquaintance/family-member etc etc dives and I want to try it too" types. (social butterfly)

Sometimes people fall into more than one of these categories. There are probably other motivations too but this is what I see most often.

Diver0001:
Case in point: nature lover. .
Insightful comments. Those different groups tend to have different attitudes towards diving. For us nature lovers, diving is a tool; a way to go sightseeing underwater. While competency in diving is important, that is not the end goal.

For adventure lovers, the sport of diving itself is the attraction.

shouldn't that be 4 reasons? :-)

Ximinez: NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.... Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again.

[The Inquisition exits]

Chapman: I didn't expect a kind of Spanish Inquisition.

Ximinez: NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms - Oh damn!

LOLl... I had to read that twice .... or was that three times.... before I got the joke.
Monty Python? I think I'll read it again.

Yeah. It's really four reasons. i added social butterfly as an afterthought and forgot to change the number. I'll edit it.

Because 3/4's of the world is underwater. There's more wildlife to see in one dive than several trips through the woods and in colors you don't see everday. The sensation of flying. And last, but not least, Sea Hunt.
