19 y/o son has Army NG that 1st weekend so we are trying to figure his logistics. :D

He can drill with the wife and I. Its far enough out that if he ask to split train they should let him, but it all depends on what they are doing. I would have him ask to do the drill before he goes on the trip, if he get in during a couple weekdays. The Readiness NCOs always can use an extra set of hands doing something.

That's awesome Dubi!! It's gonna be such a great trip!!

And yes Cardzard, I am HIGHLY looking forward to night dives! I LOVE diving at night! As a single diver, I just hope others want to also and wouldn't mind me tagging along (I'm a very good buddy! I never wander off :D). I don't want to go out and die by my lonesome, hehe.

All these photos and videos are making me want to buy a camera. They're just SO expensive! UGH! The ad floating around here for the Nikon L24 and Ikelite housing for 360 has got me itching though - but that's a cenote dive an a bit of nitrox!. And after doing more searching for other cameras, my confusion is only getting worse. There's a lot of options for a lot of different prices! I find cameras I like, then see the housings cost 2 times as much, lol... then you read about the importance of accessories, and think, "oh, maybe I can afford all this in about 2-3 more years", haha. It's quite a hard tossup between cameras or more diving, but I'd really like to capture the dives I'm doing! Stupid catch 22's!!

its a big chunk of money. been lookingfor a while and everytime I think I'm ready to drop the money something always comes up. I do plan on renting a Camera from dive paridise at least one day while we are there.

and for sure on the night dive/s I may be alone for that Jess isnt real sure if she is ready for a night dive, but even if so feel free to tag along if we have odd numbers.

You wont have any trouble finding dive buddies for the night dives. We're a friendly bunch and you are more than welcome to tag along.

My wife wasn't diving when I first started going diving with Dennis and Roxanne. They got real used to me as the "third wheel".

We both have point & shoot Olympus cameras with UW housing. Mine is a "tough" model that can get wet so if you get a little big of water in the case it's ok.

Mine is an older version of this:

Total $381

how many people plan on doing shore dives while we are there? I think I'd like to do a couple and a couple night dives also.

Is 20 dives doable for the week?

My husband thinks so! You need to plan to hookup with him (Dannybot). He will do the 3 dives per day plus add the night dive for $30. (4 dives x 5 days) + 2 dives on last day = 22.

Shore diving isn't that great during the day (they give you 1 free welcome tank).

Don't worry about being a single diver as I am too - I met Dennis, Roxanne, Duke and Judy last year in Bonaire. They are a great friendly bunch and I had so much fun I had to come back for more!:D
