I can't say I've noticed any. Jeremy at Living Underwater MIGHT be able to rent you one as I vaguely recall that he has access to a friend's. I have a steel backplate I'm not using at the moment (from my Halycon) that you could borrow if you can find a wing for it. I'm using mine (with my aluminum plate...steel was just too much weight combined with LP steel tanks...).

BTW, I think you win the prize for "original question of the month". I have never seen that question asked on this forum before!

It appears that one of my companions bags did not get loaded onto our flight.

You might contact Cozumel Scuba Repair. I know they rent gear but I do not know if they have a BP/W for rent.

Good idea, I'll check with them.

We are switching flights now so hopefully it's just a glitch in the app.

Another idea would be to check with Deep Exposure, they are more of a Tech oriented shop. If you are enroute and using AA's bag tracker it is not 100% 'real time' accurate. On my flight down last month (standby) the program missed my gear bag being scanned onto the plane in DFW but then it caught up when it was scanned off the cart onto the belt in Cozumel.

Rent.. Borrow... Not sure who your diving with? Many DM's use back plates daily, or for personal tech use or possibly own one you could use. Call your shop and ask. I use Aldora and could think of two or three DM's off the top of my head that could help you out:
ALDORA DIVERS

Glad your stuff got there, but really for a week or two of diving you should be able to use a normal jacket without any drama ;)
