I'm looking for a really flat profile steel plate. Which manufaturer do you suggest - Dss, Halcyon, Oxycheq, Oms, Salvo?

I heard DSS is one of the flattest. I have an older OMS plate and it has quite a bit of angle to it which for doubles doesn't really matter because the tanks will rest on either side of your back and the plate just becomes something for shoulder and waist straps to attach to. If you want to use a plate for singles though I would pick the flattest one you can find. It gets the tank closer to your body and reduces your profile height.

Yes, I'm strictly single tank.
Zky, are you the fellow who makes the freedom plate?

Deep Sea Supply plates are pretty flat.

Jet Harness is the flattest. Some days I regret selling my Jet Harness, it was a nice compact single tank only rig. Unfortunately, these are no longer being made.

Of those you mentioned, I can only compare the Halcyon and DSS. The DSS is the flattest, and markets itself as a flatter plate.

You could always just run over it with a truck. :D

Wow...that's flatter than Mom's behind!
Looks like DSS has the most vote with Oxcheq running close behind.
Thanks everyone!!!
