Who is Scuba Divers of America

I am looking to learn about and use Nitrox and have been researching Nitrox classes and certifications (I am a sports diver -and too old and smart to go back to professional diving ;-)) I have notices a big variance in Nitrox education costs. I realize generally you get what you pay for. For online courses they range from $79.95 for Scuba Divers of America (ONLINE) $125 for SDI/TDI (ONLINE), and $175 (one night course) from my local dive shop. Anyone have an opinion? Is SDA certification generally recognized?

It's a scam. You get a referral that is basically worthless or a card that no one seems to recognize. There's also some later posts in the thread below about affiliates mentioned on their site being unaware that they are in fact SDA shops.

Thanks, This is more info than I was able to dig up. I guess I should trust my instincts more in the future.
