I will certainly have the current situation on my mind when I'm in Brussels next month. It seems attacks can happen in places once widely thought to be safer than the Middle East. I wonder how many people who had planned vacations in France, Belgium and other European countries are now giving it some more thought, just as we divers are giving more thought to the Red Sea region and Southeast Asia?

Yes, apparently we(indonesia) get travel warning due to volcanic ashes causing airports to be closed and your flight delayed. Really funny. [emoji19]

Seriously in light of the current world geopolitical climate diving off west papua which has always had a reconsider your need/non essential travel warning or on an island off the coast of africa - even a french protectorate - you are a zillion times less likely to become a targer for terrorism than in a big city.

Im goin divin on small islands....even ones that ''belong'' to france...

You left out the part stating there is a very high threat of terrorism.

which part? i only see bomb explosion in 2011. Is something happened four years ago still relevant to the current situation? did you see ukraine in that list? they have an ongoing war you know.

Maybe his point is that Indonesians have been living for many years now with the fact that there has been terrorism in Indonesia, and as far as the Indonesians are concerned, the more significant threat to them at the moment is volcanic ash.

He seems a bit delusional as well.

Well, i beg to differ. Didn't see nor hear any "small scale attacks happened regularly". Though i do agree that islamic extremist are in abundant supplies over here (anybody willing to take them?) they did not have the capability nor the drive to do any kind of attacks anymore. The regular day over here is just... regular.
