I have dived there at that time of the year. No problems. I have rarely had rough conditions anywhere in PNG. The prevailing winds at that time of year generally has the boats diving the north shore of New Britain Island. It is wonderful. My least favorite time of year was January when I have been diving with rain every day. I prefer the summer. I highly recommend either the Stardancer or FeBrina as they are the ones who put down most of those permanent moorings. Good deeds should be rewarded. I went on an exploratory trip with the FeBrina in new waters a couple of years ago and helped as they put down new moorings. It is a very tough job!
