Which wing for warm water and travel of the following? The 27# pioneer or the #30 eclipcse or the oxycheq, I think #30? I understand the oxycheq is getting good reviews here. But what about the others and the bps that they sell? I will be using either a .5 mil or 3mil suit. Oh ya and the normal 80 alu tank. Thanks

As far as lift capacity goes, I wouldn't worry about a 3# difference for warm water.

Plates are plates are plates, for the most part. If you go with Halcyon or FredT or GUTS or one of the other well known makers, you'll do fine.

Is the eclipse the new Halcyon wing? I have heard that it is constructed with an interior bladder, but ther is no way to get to it if it punctures. That may or may not be true. If true, I wouldn't buy it.

Oxycheq is getting good reviews, I just don't know about their track record since the wings are new.

Halcyon is tried and true, although people are complaining lately about punctures and seams. I have a punctured wing, but easily fixed with aquaseal.

I'd be tempted to go with the Oxy wing, depending on the price, I am sure that they must be cheaper than Halcyon?

Any of those wings would be suitable size-wise. I haven't seen the Eclipse to comment on it though.

If you're looking strictly for travel, your options are an aluminum BC, a travel stainless steel BC, or a soft pack. All are designed to be streamlined, while reducing the weight you'll need to carry onto an airplane. If you are diving cold water anywhere, you could use a 6lb SS backplate for both, as long as you can squeeze the extra 4lb or so weight into your baggage allowance.

Thanks The Eclipse can be seen on the Halcyon web page. And I need a more compact travel setup and want to go with a BP/Wing setup. And warm water use only. Not sure what the difference is between the pioneer wing and the eclipse. Any one know? But like you said the oxy wing is getting good reviews. And my lds is a dealer for them and since I do not see LP to have any maybe it is time to throw them a few bucks. That also goes for the Halcyon stuff.
