I'm buying my first pair of doubles, I think. I like the low profile of the Halcyon manifolds, but find them hard to turn.

Is there a high quality low-profile manifold out there that's nice and easy to turn like the the Thermos? Or, alternatively, a way to loosen up the Halcyons?

Thank.

Hmm, not sure why they were hard to turn??? I have been using manifolds made by Sea-Elite and have found them to be good manifold. It used to be that the company making these were also making the ones for Halcyon.

I own all Thermo's, but every make can get stiff if you don't service them.

I also own a few of both and have never noted a difference in any of them.

I agree -- I think it's a servicing thing. The doubles we rent from ZG in Mexico all have Halcyon manifolds on them, and most are very easy to turn. But there are always a couple which aren't.

I know the knobs on my Thermo manifold are delightful right after they're serviced, but get stiffer with time. (I have to learn how to do it myself, so I can do it more often!)

i dive dive rite manifolds and like them for there high quality and i personally prefer their knobs over some of the others

i dont know who manufactures them for DR tho

Thanks! I think what's happening is that I (and frankly a whole bunch of other people) got the idea that the Halcyon's were hard to turn when we borrowed the same set of doubles from a particular tech instructor.
