I am ready for the IDC/MSDT program. Looking at BuddyDive Resort in Bonaire,(been there for vacations before), Utila Dive Center in Utila, Honduras, and a few more dive centers in Roatan, Honduras. I have a month to do this, looking next summer. Want quality not a instructor machine shop, personal attention. any thoughts out would be appreciated.

I just completed my IDC and IE after doing a lot of research on what program to take (Caribbean, U.S., etc). I think it really depends on your personal comfort level and the pros/cons of each site. For me, I had to weigh:
1. Time of year - had to coordinate vacation for the IDC with my husband's work travel
2. Amount of time required - by doing a lot of the work through E-learning I didn't have to take as much time off work, and the IDC course director was willing to work with me on how condensed I could handle the material
3. Temperature - one of the options was Indiana in October. And yes, that's the option I chose :)
4. Personal recommendation - I knew people who had been certified by this particular course director. I did not have any personal recommendations from other choices.

Do you know any instructors who have gone through any of those dive centers? You're on the right track wanting personal attention, because you want to be SUPER prepared for the IE - if your IDC course director does the job well, your IE will feel like a piece of cake (while the IDC will feel like the craziest time of your life - all that studying!).

Good luck!

I like Will Welbourne at coconut tree divers in Roatan. Then again, a month on Bonaire doesn't sound too bad, just expensive compared to Roatan or Utila.
