Suunto Vyper?

Mares M1?

Uwatec Smart Pro?

Which would you pick, and WHY is one better than the other?

I was in my LDS this morning, and HE strongly recommended UWATEC over ANY other brand.....

I came in there to order a Vyper, and got confused, and left with nothing.. DAMN

Wise decision...
So you want a computer do ya...Hmmm....
Well it just so happens Uncle has a nice Aeris Savant that has not found its way to ebay yet.....

If you want a super depth gauge/bottom timer that has a stopwatch feature and can be downloaded....
a Suunto Stinger is the deal.

Not sure these are good reasons, but...

I chose the Vyper because 1) loads of people have them and like them and 2) most of the people I dive with have Vypers (or other Suunto computers). Since we have to come up together anyway, it seemed pointless having a less conservative computer. Plus we can share instruction manuals and know-how.

Why is your LDS recommending the Uwatec?

Z

he says is has many more features. and is infrared, and is a bit more conservative? I thought it wasnt?

Is UWATEC the rolex of computers?

Take what your LDS says with a grain of salt...sometimes the advice is good, sometimes it means he makes a better margin or wants to push items he has a big inventory of.....

Vyper (+):
- Easy to read face with all important data displayed on one screen
- Water activated
- User changeable battery'
- Backlight -- 5-30 second settings
- Main function button is easy to push with heavy gloves
- Conservative/RGBM model
- Downloadable
- Sizeable dive log memory
- Air, Nitrox, gauge modes

Vyper (-):
- Menus can be confusing (but this is normally only on issue topside)

If I were buying again today, I'd buy another Vyper.

the uwatec has all those features and more....
