I need to buy a couple new cam bands. (I'll use these on an STA attached to a BP. but this does not matter.) I tend to use all three common tank diameters 7.0, 7.25 and 8.0 inches and change to a differnt tank on almost every dive. Would be nice if I didn't have to completely re-thred the cam every dive I want a stainless steel cam. There are three styles that I know of Scubapro, OMS and diverite.

Yes I know it's a small item but it's an item you deal with every time you gear up for a dive and for me that's about two days a week. Yes I know I need to look at them and play with them but sometimes there is something you only learn after more then a couple minutes of use.

The old style Scubapro bands are easiest to adjust and hold the best. The new ones are not as easy to adjust, but hold as well.

I use Apollo's Bio-Lock - once you crank that thing down, your tank isn't going ANYWHERE. I use it with a STA on my deepoutdoors harness. It'll fit any size tank - I recomment that you put some innertube slices on the outside of the cam to keep the webbing from slipping in between tank changes (especially when it's wet) but other than that, it works great!

Dive Rite Express. Look at the web sight I think there like $15 with a matal cam.

I use a mix of types for my rigs. I use a Dive Rite SS "traditional" cam band for the top and a ScubaPro (or equivalent) for the lower.

The traditional threaded band is easier to change for size and as it is on the top I don't need to slide the enclosed loop very far down the cylinder. The SP synch strap opens fully so it is easy to get around the tank and grips super tight. It is a little more difficult to change size, so I have marked the strap with marker in two places to know where to set the clasp for 80's and 95's

Ditto..... Apollo Lock... It makes your life easier.....
Next is DR Hinge buckle like SP one.

We have a ton of customers that really love the Bio-Lock by Apollo. I agree with previous posters; they hold the cylinder really secure. We have a link if you want to see a picture of the Bio-Lock

We also have the Dive Rite traditional stainless steel cam band. Take a look here.

I've been curious about the bio-lock for a while now. Do they work well with a bp/w with an STA? I have a transplate with two DR SS cam bands... would I need one bio-lock, or two? Do they adjust easily between various tank widths, say, switching among an older steel 72, an hp100 and an hp120?
