Morning...

Currently waiting on my delivery of two Worthington HP X8-119 tanks. I am planning on going double for some of deeper/long dives. I am have all my gear minus the bladder... I am curious if the 94lbs lift is over killer and could get away with the 60lbs model?

I am diving with the following:

1 x Apeks WTX Harness
2 x Worthington 119 Tanks
1 x Stainless Steel Backplate
1 x Halcyon Helios 9 Light
1 x White Cataylst Drysuit
1 x Weezle Wear

... And of course a collection of other fun goodies...

I am a "big guy" at 6'3 and 260'ish not in "muscle magazine" condition but also won't catch me a weight watchers meeting... I will be diving in cold salt water and the very rare fresh.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

A 50 to 60 lb. wing should work fine for your needs. I dive double HP 100's and 120's and use 2 AL 80's for stage and deco bottles. With all my tanks full I can use my Dive Rite 55 lb wing and it takes half to hold me solidly on the surface.

I also dive a neoprene drysuit and if I had a wing failure at depth I would use my drysuit as a backup buoyancy source.

If you were diving a wetsuit you would need two sources of lift and then a double bladder might be appropriate but most diving wet use lighter tanks.
