I have 6 open water dives I have used the Seaquest Pro Qd and I am now ready to purchase my own BC. I can get a sweet deal on a seaquest black diamond that has 4 dives on it for 375 dollars. I am wondering is it hard to learn how to use the black diamond?? I mean is it a good BC?

While I cannot tell you about the Black Diamond, I can tell you about the scubapro knighthawk.

I have both a pro QD jacket bc and a knighthawk back inflate bc. I dive both but I prefer diving with the knighthawk. The back inflate keeps your sides and front basically clear while the pro QD jacket envelopes you. The knighthawk has a cleaner feel to it, less "stuff" around you. The back inflate also helps you to keep better trim while diving. I looked at the Black Diamond before buying my knighthawk. It seemed pretty similar.

The longer I "lurk" around here the more likely I will try the bp/w, but I can't say bad things about either of the 2 bcs I have now. I like them both but dive the knighthawk more often.

It is a good BC, but whenever buying used gear, you need to test it...remember that BC is part of your life support system...

The best test is to take it diving with a buddy. The next best is to do a pool test.

Check for slow leaks...check for tears...check for fit...check all seams...etc., etc....

Also, you need to ask why it is being sold after only 4 dives?

pretty much the guy has a a newborn and his wife (divebuddy) cant dive anymore so hes selling everything I already bought a titan OCto off him and its in great shape

I mean would it be ok to buy a bc like that from leisure Pro?? since I at least get there warranty?

Be careful with LP's warranties...sometimes they aren't honored by the manufacturer...

The Black Diamond is a good BC. If it fits you well, is in good condition (which it sounds like it is), and it's the type of BC you want, go for it!

Sorry....Go directly to wing and back plate.
Oxycheq Mach V wing and SS Med or travel plate.

A lady friend of mine who to has around the same number of dives loves this system.

It is a bit more money than the Black Diamond but this will be a one time purchase.

I could give you a heck of a deal on a new rig at not much more than the used Black Diamond
