Hi everyone,

I am looking to buy a new back-inflate BC, and I would like some input. Currently, I am looking pretty seriously at the Zeagle Ranger or the Oceanic Chute 3. If anybody has any preferences between these two, or any helpful tips about which one they prefer, that would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anybody has any other recommendations (that are similar) those would also be appreciated.

Thanks.

I use the Ranger - love it. Never used the Oceanic, so can't really compare. Used to use a SP Stab Jacket. Check out ScubaToys.com for a good deal, with warranty, if you are interested...

I just bought the Genesis Recon back inflate...and boy i loved it..got to try it out for the first time in Key Largo last week, and i'll never go back to a regular one. i do like the recon it's a tek bcd.

I used an Oceanic Tour but now only use Zeagles. I think the construction of the Zeagle is better than the Oceanic product. The bladder can be switched if needed. The Oceanic Tour was in the garbage if a hole could not be patched, that never happened to me but it was something I saw as a potential problem. I also prefer the ripcord weight system over pockets and pulls. The fit on the Zeagle has greater adjustments capability also.

I only dive a bp&wing now and wouldn't change for anything, but if your sold on buying the Zeagle or the Oceanic I would go with the Zeagle. The quality is far better on the Zeagle and the fit is a bit better in my opinion.

Go for the Zeagle, and make sure to buy it from and authorized reseller. It's a great BC, with a great fit, and with a lifetime warranty, how can you go wrong?

I used to dive a Ranger. It's a great bc that is well built. I dive a bp/wings now and would never consider going back but if I did it would either be the Ranger or a Transpac.

You'll also want to avoid the Deep Outdoors...

And yet another vote for Zeagle.. Ranger or Escape depending on how much lift you need... And lifetime warranty if purchased from an authorized dealer.

After people try them on - we sell more Zeagles than all our other brands combined...

Zeagle Ranger between the 2 you offered. Genesis Recon is also excellent. And if you want something simpler check out the Cressi Balance.
