I have both a Balance and a Knighthawk. Generally I prefer the Knighthawk for ocean diving and use the Balance for the pool, but occaisionly when I am traveling and concerned about weight and size restrictions I take the balance. It is light and packs well. All the BC's you are considering are good, but considering the needs you described the Balance might be a good option.

Of those listed, I love the Stilletto. Enough of a BC without getting in your way! 
I have a Balance and like it a lot - it does pack quite nicely. The large fold out pocket is great if you should find something along the way but don't have a bag with you. Plenty of D-rings to clip things off.
I'm new to diving, so I'm not sure why this is but was recently in Hawaii with mine and almost every diver I met would see my balance and say "Wow, that's a cool BC!"
