Because of its location, Bonaire is rarely hit with the hurricanes that dominate the Carribean during September. Its great diving, both shore and boat. But you might have problem if your not certified. Go on...take the OW course. You won't regret it.

I'll second Bonaire.

BTW, welcome (Scub)aBoard!

Can anyone recommend the best reefs & scenery dive spot during Sept? Prefer 60' max, resort diver not certified.

The Avalon UW Park, on Catalina Island. With all the money you'll save you can get certified AND get new gear. Take the tropical vacation next year ;)

Howdy from The Lone Star State!

You're gonna dive without a C-card? Hope you got the big DAN plan.

Glad you're here - PM me if I can help you find your way around...

Dont forget about Curacao. Sister island to Bonaire. I have not been to Bonaire but Curacao is fantastic. From what I am told by divers that have done both Bonaire has bigger fish but Curacao has easier shore access. The shore diving on Curacao is easy and cheap.

Anywhere there's water. With these rains lately, I look at puddles on the side of the road and wonder how deep they are and what it would be like to dive in them
