Beautiful Lake Travis just outside of Austin, Texas. The water was such a lovely shade of green...but damn it was fun. Can't wait to go back someday!

Laguna Beach, circa 1977

Lake Wilson Kansas! The water was brown and gritty. You couldn't see your hand 1 foot from your face. Back then that was the coolest *****. Now after being in the ocean and diving in Aruba, Bahamas, & Grand Cayman. You couldn't pay me to go back to that lake. :o)

St. Clair River, Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. 7mm suit, 7mm hood, 7mm gloves, and 32 lbs to get under, water was a balmy 58 degrees, viz was like 1 foot, current was like 3-4knots, loved it and have been hooked ever since, have only dove in this area, lots to see, fish, wrecks, sunken logs, etc, so looking forward to some trips south to the warm, clear waters of the caribbean.

Deefield Beach, Florida

We had a large group so we had an instructor and divemaster. Fifteen feet, couldn't see a thing because there were so many of us kicking up sand! When we surfaced there huge swells, thunder and lighting. Lifeguard came out on a surf board and started yelling at us to get out of the water. The instructor kept yelling at him to stay away from his divers! We all joined elbows and kicked into shore. Thought it was the worst thing I had ever experienced. Fast foward to present day . . . DIVING ROCKS!!!

As far as diving the same site again . . . it's where I take my students to do the check out dives

Tiger tail lake in Ft. Lauderdale.

Paphos Roman Harbour - Cyprus

My OW dives 1 and 2 were in the cold murky waters at La Jolla Shores --- the place that the majority of San Diego divers get that first taste of salt water (and sometimes sand!)

Dives 3 and 4 were boat dives on the DnDII off Point Loma somewhere. I remember getting to the bottom and seeing some big fish swim by me and I was soooooooo excited! I was pointing them out to my boyfriend --- he was already certified but just coming along on the trip --I was pointing them out to the divemaster -- nobody seemed to notice!

As I gained more experience I realized there was nothing special about the fish --- and they weren't even very big! It was just my excitement in havjng them swimming so close to me!

Oh yah I ended up liking diving and DCI (the company that owns and runs the DnDII that I went on to get my Divemaser certification and work for them as a DM!

Funny how things work out hey?
