I am going to New York this mid October. Could anybody recommend any trip for 5-6 days. It might be liveaboard or daily dive...Should not be too far from NY...interested in big fish! :06:

Thank you in advance,
Magus

Are you talking about New York City or NY State?? The state is rather large, yes not as big as Texas or Alaska. There is a lot to see in the state if you have never been there before.

Uh, I live here, and there ain't much. It's mostly wrecks and bugs. Maybe sharks off of Montauk, but I've never really looked into it. Ah, the water here is friggin' cold!!

This is a little kooky, but maybe you'd like to try the New York Aquarium? There's a program for volunteers to help with cleaning and such... I think they prefer regulars, but they might work with a visitor.

New York City... I think to go something like Carribean...

Come over to this side of the state ~ Buffalo, You got The Great Lakes. Big Bass, Lots o' shipwrecks. Lots of stuff to look at. :D

Dolphin and/or shark dives in the Bahamas, on a live-aboard from Ft. Lauderdale or West Palm Beach.

You might consider flying to Miami and driving to the Florida Keys for some dives.

Thanks for the comments. Can you give me some references for good dive centers. Really appreciate.

Wow - its been about 8 years since I've dove the Keys. In Key Largo there are a lot of dive centers and I unfortunately can't really recommend one in particular since its been so long. I bet someone on this board will know though. Go to the North America (Florida Conch Divers section) and root around a little bit. I bet there might be some threads there that would help or put up a post there
