cozumel

My vote is for Bonaire. Even if you go alone you will be able to find a buddy. I have never had any trouble finding a dive buddy in my six trips there. Bonaire is one huge liveaboard where you can eat, sleep, and dive at your own pace.

If your priority is to do a lot of diving, it's hard to beat a liveaboard (provided you can afford it). If you want to dive a lot and not spend a ton, you should really consider Bonaire. A lot of divers go there single and find buddies there. or, you could probably make arrangements on this board to join someone.

For liveaboards, I think Belize is a really good option. The best diving is on the atolls and it is tailor made for a liveaboard. If you liked the diving in Roatan, you will love Belize.

Bonaire seems to be missing on your list... :D

Yeah, and Continental has a Redeye from Liberty Airport (I see youre from NYC) in Newark Every Saturday. Getting into Bonaire @ 4:40 AM Sunday. Its like getting an extra day of diving.:D

Likewise I'll be in Bonaire from 4/28/07 -- 5/6/07.

I'll dive with you:D

I have gone to Bonaire a few times alone. I have never had any trouble finding a buddy to dive with. Go, who knows who you meet and the diving is wonderful.

all the advice has been great!
i decided to go with a trip to cozumel for several reasons, but i am still determined to get to bonaire soon, and i DEFINITELY want to do a liveaboard...just need to wait until i can afford to do one in belize or turks & caicos...or ideally, palau!
happy diving-- i can't wait!

If you are looking for a liveaboard but money is not unlimited, why don't you check out one of the best kept secrets in carribean diving- the Juliet out of either Miami (summer months) or Providenciales(winter months). You can find my trip report on this little jewel here in the archives. The only problem is getting a berth, as she is often booked up way ahead...:( If you do manage to get aboard, you will experience some of the finest Bahamas diving I have ever seen. And reclining on a lounger on the sun deck over the main cabin with a cold drink and a hot book while the incredibly scenic little islands of the western Bahamas slide by while the captain is motoring to a new site....:crafty: Man, it just does not get any better than this.

Cozumel is definately a good value for the money. I go there every year. If you are interested in Blackbeards I have done that too. If you like camping. You will like Blackbeards. It is roughing it. But great diving. If you have more questions feel free to contact me
