I have just started a diving club at my high school and need some places to dive. I prefer places on the east coast because those will be easy to get too but I am looking for a few long distance places to go as well. If you know of any places where you can get good rates on lodging and diving in north america, preferably east coast, let me know. Thanks.

Half meant in jest, half not: THE SCHOOL POOL!

Build the breadth of your club (and also the numbers of people who can afford the time and money) by doing continuous pool events ranging from UW Hockey to treasure hunts to... use your imagination. Arrange for Discover SCUBA classes and build the interest and membership. The more people you have interested, the more likely you are to be able to hire a van and get moving as a group.

Shoot for a bus!

Remember the the NE has a lot of interesting diving, but not a lot of warm clear water and pretty fish. Except for people who understand the allure of wrecks, that's the big seller. Moving your group to warm water adventure in Florida entails a lot of planning as well as liability issues, but not insurmountable by a smart leader.

Go for it!

I am looking at places where I can use a pool. I go to a public school and we do not have our own pool anywhere near us. The closest indoor public pool is about 15 minutes away. I am not sure too many people will be thrilled to go into the pool without promise of trips especially for divers already certified and a few very qualified divers who are working on the dive masters. I think a big thing will be setting up classes for new divers to attract more people and also to have some trips where people can experience the warm water reefs down in florida and the caribbean.
