where to buy pt-ep01 housing?

PT-050 is only $214 on that site...that's a great deal too. Only full retail of $299 everywhere else.

Also add the cost of shipping and read the reviews on video direct. Many have complained about items listed "in stock" but actually not. Also many complaints on long waits for orders. B and H has great reviews and after considering the shipping costs B and H was only four dollars more.

you're right. i called video direct to ask if they had them in stock and they had one that had already been ordered. they also said they would have no idea when they would be getting new ones because olympus isnt shipping any. i talked to someone at b and h and they can do 550 so right now thats the best deal when taxes and shipping are considered. being that i'll have to call in again to have it be less than 600, i'll be ordering this coming monday. thanks everyone for the help!

Over the years I have bought by phone or online from many dealers. After a few disasters with deals that really were too good to be true, I only recommend buying new cameras from the major photo dealers like B&H, Adorama, or for underwater specialties from Reef, Optical Ocean, or Helix. I may pay a little more, but the stuff gets delivered reliably. Incidentally, always pay for such items with a credit card, not a debit card or other means. If something goes wrong with an online deal, credit card companies will usually support your getting a refund since the law requires that. Debit cards do not have that protection, and you are at the mercy of the merchant.
Regarding the original post, I suspect that Olympus is out of production on the Oly PT-EP01. They tend to concentrate on new products, and discontinue products without an announcement. I still suggest selling your E-PL1 and buying the newer model or switching to the XZ1, as others suggested, but if that is not what you want to do, I suggest acting quickly to get the PT-EP01 because stocks will dry up soon.

i had actually called last friday and was told that there was only one that was a demo and being rented for an extended period of time with the possibility of the user buying it. i appreciate the response but i already have one on the way. i was afraid if i waited any longer i may not be able to find the housing at all, lead alone less than 600 (managed to bargain for 550). it was more of a safe move to pull up the extra money but i really appreciate everyone's help!
