Hi I will be a week in NYC and need to buy the Scubapro MK25 + A700 maintenace kits.
Any scuba gear shop where those kits could be ordered ?

Thanks.

scubapro dealers in the US are not allowed to sell parts and service kits directly per their dealer agreement. you can try ebay.

Why can't "anyone" create and supply a scubapro service kit? Tabata/Tusa doesn't make their own o-rings...do they?

o-rings aren't the issue, it's the seats that are usually the problem and it's just not cost effective for anyone else to due it due to limited volume

Are you suggesting that SP manufactures their own seats? What's more interesting is a possible anti-trust/ price-fixing
dilemna.....

seats are typically bought as sheet material and then punched out to whatever spec they have and potentially machined if they have to be tapered. Tabata probably does it for them, but yes, one of the OEM's is making them. If you have flat seats and are motivated enough to buy the material you can punch your own out. Divers did it for decades with the old scubapro regs, both HP and LP

So how does ScubaPro get away with price-fixing in the USA?

price-fixing in what way? they set standard pricing across the country the same way car manufacturers and basically every one else do it with MSRP's and what not

Car parts for every car manufactured are available from the same OEM who manufactured parts for the "Branded" car. For instance, I bought an OEM Volvo timing belt for about half the price of the same "official volvo part." Volvo is large enough not to be able to get away with the under-the-radar-ScubaPro -scheme.
