  • Priorities: Good vis (no muck, no wrecks, no caves), but most importantly I just want to see a LOT of different stuff, either a lot of big stuff or a healthy mix of big stuff + huge schools of fish.
  • I have just over 60 dives under my belt (Philippines, Thailand, East Timor, Zanzibar, Florida), my AOW, and Nitrox cert. My last dive was Malapascua a month ago (threshers!). Last liveaboard was in Thailand last year (shoutout to Richelieu Rock 😍)
  • I have experience with strong currents but don't want that to be every single dive on the LOB.

What does "big stuff" mean? If that includes mantas Raja Ampat is the place to go for huge schools of fish but there isn't much big stuff there aside from mantas.

huge schools of medium to huge fish, I guess? I'm not necessarily itching to see sharks since I saw Threshers recently (the cutest sharks there ever were), but definitely would like to see Mantas!

Would you recommend north & central OR central & south?
Definitely make sure South is included- that area is Misool and most of the classic RA dive sites are there like Melissa's Garden. The diving is very good in the north and if you're doing 10+ day liveaboard there it will probably be included.
