Hi I am planning on doing a divemaster internship over the summer. I am 22 and would like a place with the best diving possible whilst still with relatively lively nightlife. I am interested in Mexico and was wondering where the best places to dive are. I am also considering central america, particularly Honduras and was wondering if any one had experience in this region? or how the two compare?

thanks

Also look at Utila...it is a dive training Mecca and while I did not participate in the "nightlife"...it was certainly there if you wish too. Your age demographic is well represented on Utila :)

My guess is also Utila should be cheaper to stay then the Mexican (or Roatan) resorts. A lot of your cost depends what type of internship you work out with the Dive Operator.

Here is a review of where I went: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/ba...ew-utila-dive-centers-divemaster-program.html
But I did the DM course not an entire internship...
