Anyone know why Pelican Divers is not currently in service?

I was in Morehead City last year around labor day and heard that Ray Scharf had just sold his boat. I have no idea why, and I have no idea if he will get another boat (or if he already has).

Anyone know more?

That's pretty much all anyone knows...here today gone tomorrow. Guess Ray just wanted out of the biz...Also DiveOcean is gone..he had too many boat problems that cost him the whole season last year. Capt. Bobby Cox with Diver Down took over the shop there and is now parked where DiveOcean was. He runs some really great trips...I highly recommend him.

Ray's been either teaching (I was actually OW certified by Ray) or running a charter for a LONG time; I guess he just got tired of it. I wasn't a big fan of the Pelican; bumpy ride.

The downside to the Diver Down moving its mooring spot is that now you have to walk a ways to get to the boat in the morning from the hotel. No more stumbling out of your room directly onto the boat.
