Was all set to go to Bonaire this summer. I went ill however, and we pushed up the booking and such up too far. I can't find any plane tickets for under 3500€ for two adults, wich is around 4000$. Add accommodations and necessities to that and you've got an insane price.

Unless I can find any tickets that are cheaper, Bonaire is a no-go.

Anyways, just wondering if there are similar places in Europe? Easy, shallow diving that two novice divers can tackle at their own pace. Shore diving, easy to no currents, shallow, relaxed, kind of like snorkling on steroids.

Hope anyone can help. Broken here. Bloody illness.

I'm going to Malta in the fall, there are a lot of shore diving sites, a lot of shallow dives, and a lot of areas labelled as "beginner".

I don't know what that would cost you for the summer, I never travel anywhere during peak season in order to save money and avoid crowds.

As suggested above, Malta (or Gozo) are suitable.

How about the Red Sea? Dahab has lots of easy shore dives, and will probably cost no more than Malta.

Malta, italy (sardinia), red sea (sharm) are closest to sweden. Cheap flights to USA (FL)... some good reefs in florida., Belize, mexico, costa rica. Other car. islands.

There is just soo much. Have a look on the cheap flight/ticket websites.

I believe there is some great diving in the Adriatic--- particularly the Croatian coast. You may want to look into that. Here is one website I found. I know that before I dove, my friends and I did snorkel in Croatia, and it's gorgeous. The people are great, and it is cheap!

That really blows! How about if you maybe fly from Stockholm to Newark, NJ--about $500--stay & enjoy the fine city for a day or two ;) and from there, catch the non-stop AA flight to Bonaire--about $1000?

I, myself, will be leaving for Bonaire next Saturday! Wooo-Hoooo!

OOOps, meant non-stop Continental Newark to Bonaire. (Looked on Cheapoair.com.)

Thanks for the tips.

I was on Gozo 2 years ago. Liked it.

I found cheap tickets to Curacao from just about any major city here. Trying to go through the hoops of finding a flight or boatride from curacao to bonaire and back. 15th Aug and the 22nd. I was looking at Dutch Antilles Express - but my phone ran out of battery life before I was first in line.

Hey Cobra8472 what's up, Why don't you come to visit Curacao? Here we have some beaches and diving places that you will never forget.

Chris..
