Yes, do share. I once had a cop (who also dove) tell me it was illegal to walk into the water via a boat landing, even if there were no boats using it. I would love to know if that's a local law, general law, or not a law at all.

Most places don't actually have "scuba diving laws." N. America, which tends to be law-happy, is a partial exception. In most countries, you can scuba dive if you feel like scuba diving. Your choice. But, if you get into trouble, don't expect much in the way of Search & Rescue. The plane may be in for repairs that day. Or, the pilot may be on holidays ...
