Thought that Apeks is now doing manufacturing for the Aqualung brand as well...

Might be, When I was in a local shop I saw that the Mikron Reg was made in France. That and the Cressi website saying theirs are Italian got me thinking, where are all these things made.

Does XSscuba only have products made in Taiwan?

I see Apollo chinned in but what about the rest of them? Are they all diving when I have to work indoors?

This is a good thread. It will be interesting to see the input from various manufacturers, some who are members of this board./QUOTE]

:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

No way if they have witnessed Burhanmuntasser's interrogation techniques
have to check spelling

And no way anyway

but it makes sweet FA anyway because the factory where ever it is makes to the specification of the manufacturer "Name Brand" dependent on how many Greenbacks "THEY" are willing to part with.

The reg comes from the reg factory the knife comes from the knife factory the bcd comes from the bcd factory the rubber comes from the plastic factory and the brand comes from the sticker factory.

I have identical things, not rip offs, what's to rip off, with different
knobs, stickers, logos, brands, moulded etched stamped screwed in.

'THEY' do it to their own stuff with an aesthetic mod and call it new.

I've got SP from USA Mexico Italy Japan and haven't looked for more.

You can even access shipment details.

Very good
Go diving.

I'm afraid Burhan_is in Tripoli and, most likely, not quite up to caring where one model of this or that is manufactured.

It does matter where things are made and how they are made. Some BC's are well made with good materials and closely supervised QC, others not. The same can be said for any product. It is never just about the logo-although some seem to think so-It is about design, materials, manufacturing etc.

Some items are simply clones with logo changes, that is true. It seems that is what the OP is trying to get at.

From what I heard from a service repair guy, he said that the Oceanics are from Taiwan...

There was a How’s It’s Made episode on the Science Channel showing Oceanic making regulators. At least at the time of filming, they had their own CNC machining centers, cleaning, assembly, and inspection operation in San Leandro.

I think many of these guys are International and source stuff globally.....they may also shift production around.....

In the end what is point/value of know where the stuff is made?

Also components - hoses, fittings, screws, mouth pieces, etc... may come from all over...so a single point of origin may be complex.....

The question is would you not buy gear based on country of production....

I only dive brass and glass SPGs produced in Italy......at least they all seem to come from there.....:D

Just my thoughts........M

High quality design, quality tooling, skilled workers, top end materials, good QC, and excellent customer service are all part of the equation.

Are you sure about the Aqua-Lung - France thing? All my Aqua-Lung gear is marked "made in USA" with a CA address, right up to my new Conshelf 14.

Yes, When I looked at the underside of the Mikron it said, "Made in France"

I went to a local dive shop today and looked at the ones they had there I want to say all of them didn't have any info on them.

I guess why I am asking so much is that it's really looking like some Reg's are made by the same company with different labeling.
