Hey guys.

My buddy is getting married in Venuzuela at the end of August, 2005. I was planning to spend a week in Bonaire. Does anybody know when the coral spawn should be happening? Google search said 4-6 days after the full moon in the warmest month of the year. That should put it sometime during the wk of aug 22-27? Can someone confirm this?

I'm new to diving, but coral spawn looks pretty cool. Is it as cool as it seems?

thanks.

I thought it was later in September. The guy to ask is Jerry Ligon, he's the naturalist at Bonaire Dive & Adventure on Bari Reef.

The Coral Spawning usually happens the last week of September, 1st week of October. We've dove 2 spawnings in the last 3 years on Bonaire. It is terrific! I still find it amazing how they can time them the spawnings so well. It is an amazing site! Best of luck

dvrliz1 is right! And I'll be there in 2005 for it. Can't wait.

Natasha how wonderful! I'm not able to dive until after the summer due to recent brain surgery, but one of my first night dives will be for the spawning...It's amazing what you can see in less than 30 ft of water along some of the reefs close to town!
