OW certified in '15 and fianlly got my AOW in '19, didn't really make a huge difference honestly, but that being said. I have been told by certain instructors that they require, them personally, to have at least 30 dives to show they have been out, but to me, the way someone acts while in the pool should tell you whether they are "safe" to take out for that cert. IMO
