Oh OK. I thought you meant 15 seconds worth of swimming time to reach the buddy because he could be 15 secs. worth apart from you.

Update: 2 month and a few days to go 'till Key Largo. Today the wife was lazy, snorkeled only half of her usual 40 laps. But then she tried swimming (w/o help, no neoprene, no mask, no snorkel etc). Still far from real swimming, but she did 6 laps w/o stopping (2 more than last time). Those 6 laps took her maybe even a little longer than it took her ti snorkel 20. Then she swam a few more laps, but with stops all two laps, cause she was tired. So much work for so few laps. But a new record for her. More important: She chose to do it and wants to keep going...

To me, it doesn't matter the pace or how much she is doing- the fact is she is choosing to do it herself with no pressure says more than her achievement on a particular day.

Completely agree! It worries me when someone tries to push someone else into an activity they love which their friend/partner hates. And with diving, I've seen it result in some dangerous scenarios. Glad to see maybe this isn't the case here.

Been there.
Done that.
Learned a lesson or two...
