I stand corrected; those are indeed raccoons. There are also coatis on the island; they are skinnier and have longer tails.
yes, the Mexican pigmy raccoon is on Cozumel .. lots of them! especially up at Punta Norte where the fishermen come in and leave the "cleanings" in the trash buckets.

I've seen coati in the northern hotel zone in the evenings headed out of the jungle to the resort dumpsters.

my best find on this last trip was a Basket Star, I found it at Columbia Shallows. It was all balled up in a coral cubbie ... check out the C.S. video on the ol' blog ... The Shark Tank radio show

I also found not one, not two, but three octopus on my own this past trip ... first time to find one on my own ever and I found 3 on 3 different dives!
 
On Oct/Nov trip this year, a batfish and a school of reef squid on a night dive.
