I have two kits ... one for tools and parts, and the other for spare gear. I keep everything in a large box I purchased from Honda ...

And a fine box it is. :14:

Currently my save a dive kit is an optimisism that not everyone was optimistic as myself that someone else would have a spare whatever. That being said, I'll be constructing a kit in the near future to include a mask strap, fin strap, tank o-ring, batteries, tip money and scuba tool. There may be more, but that's a good start.

This is a GREAT Idea... My kids were just asking me what I wanted for my Birthday next week. I'll put together a "save a dive kit" list for them..not too expensive of things and easy for them to buy.

AWESOME!!!

Inner tires, spanners, zip ties and line are easy to come by...

Good suggestions from the posters. Mine has:
O-ring kit (you can purchase from LDS for under $5)
camera+strobe O-rings + silicone grease
mouth-piece(s) [to fit all 2nd stages]
octo holder clip
zip-ties (different sizes)
scissors/pliers to clip zip-ties
wrench set (for HP and LP)
hex wrench set
screw-drivers (Phillips and Flat)
brass marine clips (single and double-end)
mask strap
fin strap
rubber snorkel clip
batteries (for lights and computer)
scalpel/forceps (or any tool to remove sand, O-rings from equipment)
moist handwipes (to clean my fingers of sand/salt)
silicone grease
Christo-lube grease
WD-40
cut up bicycle tire strips (for use as elastic bands)
Mini First Aid kit (bandages, gauze pads, Band-Aids, gloves and CPR mouth guard)

Dive safely

I have noticed many of you carry silicone grease in your kits. I do as well. It might be worth pointing out that I believe this should be used for computers and lights only. Silicone is not considered O2 compatible and anyone using nitrox should not put it on their regs. I know some people still use air only, but most shops these days only put christolube on regs they service just so there is no mixup.

Skip the duct tape (duck) it is ok for wet use, but if you want stuff that will stick and waterproof and .....

Aluminum tape. The stuff sticks like nothing I have ever seen. The glue is waterproof and stands up to moderate heat and pressure. (Patched radiator hose with it once.)

Another thing I did not see but use for my wetsuit and other zippers is a candle.
Why not? Any problems with parafin wax and wet/dry suit zippers?

i like to bring spare pressure gauge,1st stage,1 or 2 second stages, spare hp and low pressure hoses, xtra comp and lt batts, spare mask and fin straps,o ring kit, ect, ect, ect it just keeps growing.
