What undergarment for drysuit are you wearing?

Still shopping for an undergarment. What undergarment are you wearing with your drysuit? And if you're using neoprene or trilam drysuit is helpful to know. I want to buy something for the great lakes but also not something thats TOO much. Currently thinking Fourth Element Arctic, and wearing my Hollis AUG 260 under it if needed. Thoughts?

I use a Santi BZ420X out here for my big dives with a trilam suit. Otherwise, some random Bare 200 weight fleeces with a 4th element X Core vest for shorter stuff. How long will the exposure times be?

I don't think the Arctic is enough by itself for the Great Lakes in a trilam. I was quite comfortable in Arctic+Xerotherms in 39-42°F water on my last trip. Buddy says the Halo-AR is slightly warmer than that combo and less bulky/restrictive.

Personally, I'd say dry gloves are also a must.

Arctics are fine for relatively short recreational depth dives on the great lakes. For deep and long dives I use a BZ420 heated. Folks who have the Halo AR love it.

C200 thinsulate but most important are the dry gloves Hands and feet warm, you're warm, well for the most part

Merino wool wicking layer plus Waterproof Meshtec insulation layer works great for me for anything 45 degrees and up under a trilam. That combo really reduces the lead requirements too. Thick wool socks and neoprene dryglove liners that are just loose enough to maintain good circulation do far more to keep me feeling warm than what I'm wearing on my torso and legs.

With winter temps in the mid/low 30s I could do 60-80 min. Hands were the limiting factor with FE halo gloves.

Today it was 46°. 90 min, Chilled but not cold. Hands totally fine.

It depends on the dive. If I'm working I can get away with less. Dry gloves a must.

I use Halo 3D for colder, I like dense material vs lofty. Arctic 2 piece for anything above ~ 55f

I might just pony up the cash and get the Halo and be done with it.. Why's this hobby have to require an extra job or one less kidney?
