Hi i was just wondering what type of grease should i use to grease the o-ring as well as my torch?Any particular brand to recommend?

Assuming this is the o-ring on the torch. If it was on a reg./manifold I would use a non-silicon based lube.

Just use the silicone grease that you buy at your local dive shop for such things ... and apply it very lightly.

i use silicon grease as far as i know it's all similar, but my sea & sea housing says only use their grease, and my sony housing says only use sony grease, they look the same but the cost involved in replacing a possible disaster, i use the recomended grease
for the torches i use what ever is to hand

and buy the same product for 1/3 the price at Home Depot/Lowes.

Thanks guys.Any particular brand?I heard people using vasaline or petroleum jelly. Is it advisable?

Don't use valeline, because it is a petroleum jelly it will cause the rubber o-ring to break down quickly. The silicone grease is basically inert to the ring and won't break down the rubber.

No, as explained in the previous reply...

I use Aquaseal from McNett Corporation. http://divemar.com/mcnett/docs/sil_grease.html. Bought it at my LDS in a 1/4oz. container. Anyone who sells u/w photo/video equipment should have it or something similar. Note: McNett also markets an Adhesive under the same brandname so don't get them mixed up.
