This is a dump question. I am letting a friend try my basic harness and need to make some adjustment. I want to mark my own setting so that I can easily go back when he is done. So far, I have tried paint pen of different color, the webbing just absorb the paint the marking doesn't show at all. I have also tried sharpie, it doesnt show either. what do people use?

White covering fluid from stationary shop?

Silver sharpie works fine for me, I use it for marking all my gear

Don't the dents in the webbing from where you've had it work? I'd try the silver sharpie if that doesn't cut it.

If you want it permanent you could use a soldering iron to melt a couple of dots at each location.

Assuming OP has had the rig for even a short period of time this should be the case.
